In today’s busy world, internet has become an essential factor in our lives. While elders use it for seeking information, the younger people browse internet for education related projects, games and chatting with friends and unknown people. The menace lies here only. As internet does not offer a clear perception about the person, you are chatting with, the miscreants take advantage of innocent kids. What if you will come to know on a fine morning that the 19-year-old, fair, tall, beautiful girl is actually a 45-year-old, dark, pedophile? In the internet world, such incidents are very common.

Even if for you, ‘honesty is the best policy’, every internet savvy person might not think alike. So whenever, you will make new friends, make sure he or she has a guarantor, a common friend, a relative or a friend of yours. The guarantor will surely give an impression of the person. If there is no guarantor available for the unknown person, try to avoid him. But still if you get impressed with the cute face, make sure you don’t share your personal information with him, until you have become 100% confident about the person’s genuineness.

If the unknown person is asking personal questions like your address, phone number etc, tell him strictly that you will never encourage these questions again. But if the person is still asking for the same information, don’t hesitate and delete him from your friend list.

Don’t try to meet with a stranger in person alone. You may know him through chat for months, but when you will decide to meet with him, take another person with you like your friend or a relative to assure 100% security. Again don’t meet in private areas like a resort or a hotel room, rather meet in public places like malls and cafés.
